I have a question regarding commuting to Brooklyn Heights. I'm taking the LIRR to Penn Station and then the A or C train down to High Street which is rather long but doable. I'd drive there but my advisor said there's practically nowhere to park and I know I'll be killing myself on the BQE in traffic. Any hints?

The times for Atlantic Avenue terminal don't make any sense for me... most of the time I have to transfer at Jamaica and wait for 30 minutes.

Maybe park it near a Queens A/C line station and save yourself the cost of an LIRR rush-hour ticket?

LIRR from where?

Why would you go to Penn Station and then back into Brooklyn?

Huntington.

Because the timing of the Atlantic Avenue trains don't work with my class schedule AND it only takes 15 minutes to get to school from Penn Station. It would still take me 10 minutes + walking a few more minutes to get there from Atlantic Avenue.

Yeah but then going into Queens is also time consuming and then the A/C train takes an hour to get to where I need to go.

You have no way to access Penn Station from where you live? Or Grand Central station?

I can, just take the LIRR to Penn Station. I just need to drive my car to the train station and find parking, which is another ordeal.

The Far Rockaway station terminal is as far east as the A/C goes. Drive there via Sunrise Highway (its the quickest westbound route during rush hour because everyone hates the stoplights towards western Nassau County and decides to clog the parkways and the LIE, instead) and take the train from there. Wish there was a better option, but the planning of Robert Moses sucked like that; all transit traffic basically funnels towards the airports or Manhattan.

LIRR stations always have parking, you'll be fine. Give your self extra time though, worst case you can park a few blocks away.

Believe me, my local one never has parking. I give myself 25 minutes before the train comes.

Yikes, that's still a far train ride from Far Rockaway to High Street.
